Frank Tappen

Co-Owner

Frank is the Co-Owner of The Mentors Robot Shop along side his wife, Melinda, and the coach of several robotic teams, including "Eagle One", "The Pink Eagles" and the "Harambots". He has a bachelors degree in Computer Science from the University of Michigan and has over 20 years of experience teaching business professionals.  

Melinda Tappen

Co-Owner

Melinda is the Co-Owner of The Mentors Robot Shop along side her husband, Frank, and the assistant coach of the "Eagle One" and "Pink Eagles" robotic teams. She is always on the look out for something cool, unique and fun to add to The Shop.

Bryan Tappen

Class Trainer

Bryan is pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering with hopes of applying his knowledge to the Energy sector. He would like to focus on ways to use alternative energy methods. He graduated from Hartland High School.

Noah Tappen

EV3 Trainer

Noah is currently a junior at the University of Michigan. He is an alumni of Hartland High School, where he was the class president, and former member of the Hartland Robotics Team, Electro Eagles. He has competed at numerious, regional, state and world tournaments and won countless awards. Noah came up with the idea for the Mentors Robot Shop when he took an Entrepreneurship class at school. He developed a business plan for a store that would make learning STEM fun for all ages! Later he used that same business plan to compete at DECA, winning the State competion and advancing to Nationals.
